The creative process

This is a repost for Seths treasure hunt. I really decided I wanted to post one of my "how to's"
since that is one of my favorite things to see on others blogs. I love to see the creative process unfold. When I first began blogging it was my inspiration to go and try something new.SO go and try this and then let me know how it turned out!

The art journal page in process... go to my stash!

I start by adding the paint and my favorite paper scraps: First the page was gessoed then acrylic paints-then paper ephemera that I whitewash over. letting that dry I start my painted face.

Love my stabilo black pencil  and a good white wash!

adding color-using acrylics and watercolor crayons.

adding more color defining the eyes, adding stamping and a little aging with walnut ink

last stage, adjusting shading, color adding words-often at this stage I rework anything that stands out ...tearing paper off adding gesso..

the opposite page is where I journal my thoughts for the day..that leaves me with a finished art piece...that I can use later for reproduction and sale!

LOVE the sennelier brand of inks

and always have two or three pads of words..these are from Tim Holtz line.

Thanks so much for stopping in .......
